Financial Reporting Manager Needed @ A&F Management Consulting

We are seeking an individual who is a self-starter, agile, hardworking and detail orientated. The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for the financial, regulatory and capital reporting within International America Region Insurance and Reinsurance.

Specific Skills
  • Professional designation in Accounting
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification work experience in Accounting or Finance with management experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong proven work experience in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with the ability to prepare financial statements and disclosure
  • Prior experience in capital reporting
  • Ability to research technical accounting issues and analyze data into concise deliverables
  • Prior exposure to IFRS 17 accounting standards and/or the Bermuda insurance regulatory environment, is advantageous
  • Superior communication skills, which includes the ability to construct technical documentation
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Great Plains
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines following company guidelines as well as in a team-oriented approach to accomplish goals
  • Strong analysis and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and implement solutions
  • Possess initiative and creativity ideas in achieving results
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and multi-task in a complex work environment
  • Ability to work in a constant change environment whilst managing stakeholder expectations
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the quarterly financial close and annual business planning for the Region
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and disseminate to the appropriate stakeholders for Group reporting purposes
  • Prepare and review annual IFRS financial and statutory statements for the entities within the Region
  • Proactively assess and document the impact of new IFRS accounting standards and nonstandard transactions on the regional entities and provide advice where required
  • Manage the capital reporting process and make recommendations of capital transactions where appropriate
  • Coordinate the external audits of the entities within the Region
  • Coordinate the annual regional regulatory filings (BSCRs)
  • Be the key liaison for Americas for IFRS 17 related activities who coordinates with the IFRS 17 overall project team
  • Provide constant improvement of processes to ensure that reporting risks are mitigated
  • Overall responsibility for the management of a small Financial Reporting team which will include staff performance management
  • Perform any other tasks as required
